Ludo with Friends is a free online Ludo game at ludowithfriends.com, also offered on game sites such as CrazyGames. This page explains what the game collects, why, and for how long. Questions or requests: contact@zoony.io.

What our server receives

When you play online, in Quick play or in a room with friends, our game server receives:

  • A random player id that the server creates. It is not your name and is not linked to any account. On ludowithfriends.com it is kept in a cookie; on game sites, in your browser’s storage.
  • The name and avatar you pick. The other players at your table see them. The server holds them in memory only while your room exists and does not save them.
  • Your IP address, used to limit abuse, for example how many rooms one address can create.
  • Room codes and the moves of each game, needed to run it. Games live in memory and are gone when the room closes.

Server logs record the player id, IP address and room code of connections and refused requests, so we can fix problems and stop abuse. They are deleted after 30 days.

What stays on your device

The game keeps a few things in your browser so it works the next time you visit: your name and avatar, sound and emoji settings, a game in progress so you can continue it, how well you have been doing against bots (to set their difficulty), and your player id. It also notes the language your visit started in, which your browser forgets when you close the tab. None of this leaves your device except as described on this page. Clearing your browser’s data for the site removes it.

On ludowithfriends.com

The website uses Google Analytics to count visits and games played, for example how often Quick play is used. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your IP address; see Google’s privacy policy. The site and the connection to our server run through Cloudflare. The versions of the game on other game sites do not use Google Analytics.

With those counts, Google Analytics receives the language the game was showing and, when you create or join a room, the language your visit started in, so we can see how many people play in each language.

The website remembers your language in two cookies. If you pick a language with the language switch, a cookie named lwf_lang keeps that choice for one year. Otherwise a cookie named lwf_lang_soft holds the language of the last home or rules page you opened, or of the invite link you followed, and is deleted when your browser session ends. Your browser sends these cookies to the website’s server with each request, so it can show the page in that language. They hold only the language.

On CrazyGames and other game sites

When you play on a game site, that site shows its own ads and runs its own accounts under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your account on that site.

Your choices

We do not sell your data and we do not show ads of our own. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, write to contact@zoony.io with your player name and roughly when you played. Because there are no accounts, we can only find what is still in the logs.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
